    Day in the Life

    A wind turbine technician's day starts early, often in remote, open landscapes where wind farms are located. The defining feature of the job is the climb: you will regularly scale ladders inside turbine towers that are 250 feet or taller, hauling tools and safety gear. Once at the top, you work inside the nacelle—the housing that contains the generator and gearbox—performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting electrical systems, or replacing worn mechanical components.

    The work environment is physically demanding and exposed to the elements. You might be dealing with extreme heat, cold, or high winds, all while suspended hundreds of feet in the air. Safety is paramount, requiring strict adherence to fall protection protocols and confined space procedures.
